Manpower Survey Results in April 2023

Total employment increased by 12,000(+0.10%) in April to 11,506,000; moreover, it also increased by 91,000(+0.80%) when compared with that of the previous year.

The unemployment rate declined by 0.06 percentage points to 3.50 percent in April; moreover, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also declined by 0.03 percentage points to 3.56 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 417,000 in April, a decrease of 7,000(-1.64%) and 12,000(-2.72%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively. 

Labor force participation rate declined by 0.02 percentage points to 59.18 percent in April; however, it rose by 0.02 percentage points from that of the previous year.
