Total employment in December 2022 was 11,451,000, which increased by 21,000(+0.19%) form the previous month’s level; however, it decreased by 29,000(-0.26%) from that of the previous year.
The unemployment rate declined by 0.09 percentage points to 3.52 percent in December 2022; moreover, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also declined by 0.03 percentage points to 3.61 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 418,000 in December 2022, a decrease of 10,000(-2.34%) and 15,000(-3.46%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate declined by 0.03 percentage points to 59.17 percent in December 2022; in contrast, it rose by 0.01 percentage points from that of the previous year.
