Total employment in December 2014 was 11,151,000, which increased by 14,000(+0.13%) and 122,000(+1.10%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
The unemployment rate declined by 0.10 percentage points to 3.79 percent in December 2014, besides, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also decreased by 0.03 percentage points to 3.84 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 439,000 in December 2014, which decreased by 12,000(-2.75%) and 30,000(-6.39%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate was 58.64 percent in December 2014, which decreased by 0.02 percentage points from the previous month; in contrast, it rose by 0.09 percentage points from that of the previous year.
