Total employment in January 2016 was 11,244,000, which increased by 2,000(+0.02%) and 85,000 (+0.76%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
The unemployment rate remained the same at 3.87 percent in January 2016, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased by 0.03 percentage points to 3.91 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 453,000 in January 2016, which remained the same as the previous month but increased by 23,000(+5.39%) from that of the previous year.
Labor force participation rate was 58.70 percent in January 2016, a decrease of 0.02 percentage points but an increase of 0.10 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
