Manpower Survey Results in May 2016

    Total employment in May 2016 was 11,247,000, which increased by 5,000(+0.04%) and 68,000 (+0.60%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

     The unemployment rate decreased by 0.02 percentage points to 3.84 percent in May 2016, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also decreased by 0.01 percentage points to 3.96 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 449,000 in May 2016, which decreased by 2,000(-0.51%) but increased by 29,000(+6.79%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

      Labor force participation rate was 58.63 percent in May 2016, which remained the same as that of the previous month but increased 0.11 percentage points from that of the previous year.
