In February 2014, the total nonagricultural payroll employment, at 7,202 thousand, decreased by 7 thousand (or 0.09%) than last month. In comparison with February 2013, payroll employees increased by 123 thousand (or 1.74%). The average employment since January 2014 was 7,206 thousand, increased by 117 thousand (or 1.64%) than the same period of last year. The average monthly hours of work for industry and service sector in February 2014 was 149.0 hours, mainly impacted by the Chinese Lunar New Year holidays, the working-hour was 23.1 hours less than last month and 13.6 hours more than February of last year. The average working-hour since January 2014 was 160.5 hours, 0.3 hours more than the same period of last year. The average regular earnings in February 2014 was NT$37,534, which was 1.06% less than last month and 1.34% more than the same month of last year. Mainly influenced by year-end bonuses and production bonuses were granted in last month, the average earnings (including regular and irregular earnings) were $41,751, which was 52.71% less than last month and was 32.97% less than the same month of last year. The average regular earnings since January 2014 was NT$37,736, which increased 1.27% than the same period of last year. The average monthly earnings since January 2014 was NT$65,028, 6.36% more than the same period of last year.
