Industry and Service Sector Earnings Statistics in January 2021

i.At the end of January, the total payroll employees were 8,168 thousand, increased by 15 thousand (or 0.18%) than the previous month. Since the economic activities revived from June 2020, the total payroll employees increased by 109 thousand.
ii.In January, the average regular earnings of full-time employees with Taiwan nationality (excluding the foreigners and part-time employees) was NT$45,419, increased by 1.97% than the same month last year. After adding the irregular earnings such as bonuses and overtime pays, the average total earnings was NT$79,928, decreased by 23.90% than the same month last year.
iii.The regular earnings of all employees (including full-time and part-time employees with Taiwan nationality and foreigners) was NT$43,125, increased by 2.07% than the same month last year. The average total earnings was NT$75,145, decreased by 23.92% than the same month last year. The regular hourly earnings of part-time employees was NT$193, increased by 1.58% than the same month last year.
