In September 2014, the total nonagricultural payroll employment, at 7,319 thousand, decreased by 2 thousand (or 0.04%) than last month. In comparison with September 2013, payroll employees increased by 147 thousand (or 2.05%). The average employment since January 2014 was 7,255 thousand, increased by 136 thousand (or 1.91%) than the same period of last year. The average monthly hours of work in September 2014 was 178.8 hours, decreased by 2.1 hours from last month and increased by 6.9 hours from the same month of last year. Since January 2014, the average working hours was 175.6 hours, increased by 0.7 hours than the same period of last year. The average regular earnings in September 2014 was NT$38,384, 0.25% more than last month and 2.19% more than the same month of last year. Average monthly earnings in September was NT$44,382, which was 0.27% less than last month and 2.96% more than the same month of last year. The average regular earnings since January 2014 was NT$38,111, which was 1.69% more than the same period of last year. The average monthly earnings since January 2014 was NT$48,521, increased by 4.37 percent than the same period of last year.
