In February 2016, the total nonagricultural payroll employees, at 7,412 thousand, decreased by 19 thousand (or 0.25%) from last month. In comparison with February 2015, payroll employees increased by 81 thousand (or 1.10%). The average payroll employees since January 2016 was 7,422 thousand, increased by 78 thousand (or 1.06%) than the same period of last year. The average monthly working hour for industry and service sector in February 2016 totaled to 132.9 hours, which reduced by 40.9 hours from last month and by 3.8 hours from the same month of last year. The average monthly regular earnings per employee within the industry and service sector in February 2016 were NT$38,636. Comparing with last month and a year ago, there was 1.29% decreasing and 1.28% increasing respectively. Mainly influenced by Lunar New Year effect, the yearend bonuses and production bonuses were given in different months, the average monthly earnings (including regular and irregular earnings) in February was NT$59,508, decreased by 20.99% from last month and by 31.34% from last February. Comparing the same period of January to February over last year, the average monthly regular earnings of NT$38,889 was increased by 1.41%. And the average monthly earnings was NT$67,425, reduced by 2.69%.
