In October 2014, the total nonagricultural payroll employment, at 7,329 thousand, increased by 10 thousand (or 0.14%) than last month. In comparison with October 2013, payroll employees increased by 146 thousand (or 2.02%). The average employment since January 2014 was 7,262 thousand, increased by 137 thousand (or 1.92%) than the same period of last year. The average monthly hours of work in October 2014 was 185.5 hours, increased by 6.7 hours from last month and increased by 0.7 hours from the same month of last year. Since January 2014, the average working hours was 176.6 hours, increased by 0.6 hours than the same period of last year. The average regular earnings in October 2014 was NT$38,480, 0.25% more than last month and 2.30% more than the same month of last year. Average monthly earnings in October was NT$42,198, which was 4.92% less than last month and 0.59% more than the same month of last year. The average regular earnings since January 2014 was NT$38,149, which was 1.76% more than the same period of last year. The average monthly earnings since January 2014 was NT$47,883, increased by 4.02 percent than the same period of last year.
