In March 2014, the total nonagricultural payroll employment, at 7,216 thousand, increased by 14 thousand (or 0.19%) than last month. In comparison with March 2013, payroll employees increased by 125 thousand (or 1.76%). The average employment since January 2014 was 7,209 thousand, increased by 119 thousand (or 1.68%) than the same period of last year. The average monthly working hour for industry and service sector in March 2014 was 179.3 hours, mainly impacted by the Chinese Lunar New Year holidays in last month, the working hour was 30.3 hours more than last month and 0.1 hours less than the same month of last year. The average working hour since January 2014 was 166.8 hours, 0.2 hours more than the same period of last year. The average regular earnings in March 2014 was NT$37,950, which was 1.11% more than last month and 1.39% more than the same month of last year. The average earnings was $42,710, which was 2.30% more than last month and was 3.18% more than the same month of last year. The average regular earnings since January 2014 was NT$37,808, which increased 1.31% than the same period of last year. The average monthly earnings since January 2014 was NT$57,582, 5.54% more than the same period of last year.
