Industry and Service Sector Earnings Statistics in January 2020

i. In January, the total payroll employees were 7,993 thousand, decreased by 260 thousand (or 0.32%) because of the job transfer and the separation of temporary employees around the Chinese New Year.
ii. Mainly affected by the Chinese New Year, the average regular earnings of full-time employees was NT$44,621 with Taiwan nationality (excluding the foreigners and part-time employees), increased by 1.61% than the same month of the last year. After adding the irregular earnings, the average total earnings was NT$109,181, increased by 9.04% than the same month of the last year.
iii. The regular earnings of total employees (including full-time and part-time employees with Taiwan nationality and foreigners) was NT$42,348, increased by 1.57% than the same month of the last year. After adding the irregular earnings such as bonuses and overtime pays, the average total earnings was NT$102,561, increased by 8.95% than the same month of the last year.
iv. The working hours of all employees were 145.9 hours, decreased by 35.9 hours than the same month of the last year.
