Manpower Survey Results in May 2019

      Total employment in May 2019 was 11,484,000, which increased by 4,000(+0.03%) and 73,000(+0.64%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

      The unemployment rate remained at 3.67 percent in May 2019; the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased by 0.02 percentage points to 3.75 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 437,000 in May 2019, which remained the same but increased by 7,000(+1.68%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

      Labor force participation rate was 59.07 percent in May 2019, which increased by 0.01 percentage points and 0.21 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
