Earnings and Productivity Statistics in February 2018

i.At the end of February, the total payroll employees of the Industrial and Services sector was 7,615 thousand, decreased by 23 thousand or 0.31% from previous month. Comparing with the same month of last year, it increased 122 thousand or 1.62%. The average payroll employees since January 2018 was 7,627 thousand, increased 130 thousand or 1.73%.
ii.The average regular earnings of all employees (including full-time employees with Taiwan nationality, foreigners and part-time employees) in February was NT$40,483, 0.71% less than previous month and 2.85% more than the same month of last year. The average regular earnings since January 2018 was NT$40,629, increased 2.81% than the same period of last year. If plus onto by the irregular earnings such as year-end bonuses and performance bonuses, the average total earnings of February came to NT$86,832, increased by 46.94% and 89.92% from previous month and the same month of last year, respectively. Mainly effected by most companies paid the year-end bonuses and performance bonuses in February.
iii.In February, the average total earnings of full time employees with Taiwan nationality (excluding foreigners and part-time employees) was NT$91,944. Since with fewer working hours, the average total earnings of part-time employees was NT$20,510.
iv.The average total working hour in February was 129.4 hours, 49.4 hours less than previous month and 19.6 hours less than last February. The average total working hour since January 2018 was 154.1 hours, 3.1 hours more than the same period of last year.
