February 16, 2015 According to the latest preliminary estimation by DGBAS, Taiwan's real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 3.35% in 2014Q4, compared to the same quarter of the previous year. For the whole 2014, the economic growth rate was 3.74%. Meanwhile, the GDP is projected to grow 3.78% in 2015.

Preliminary Estimation of GDP in 2014Q4 and 2014

        The moderate growth of exports and private consumption brought Taiwan's real GDP growing by 3.35% in 2014Q4. Meanwhile, the economic growth rate of 2014Q3 was revised to 4.32% (formerly 3.63%). For 2014 as a whole, real GDP grew by 3.74% and CPI raised 1.20%.

Outlook for 2015

        In 2015, the slightly accelerated global economy will be helpful for supporting Taiwan's export momentum. Coupling with the domestic demand, real GDP will grow by 3.78% in 2015. CPI will increase by 0.26%.
