Manpower Survey Results in January 2014

    Total employment in January 2014 was 11,036,000, which increased by 7,000(+0.06%) and 101,000(+0.92%) from the previous month and that of the previous year respectively.

     The unemployment rate decreased by 0.06 percentage points to 4.02 percent in January 2014, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also declined by 0.07 percentage points to 4.07 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 462,000 in January 2014, a decrease of 7,000(-1.45%) and 13,000(-2.70%) from the previous month and that of the previous year respectively.

      Labor force participation rate in January 2014 was 58.52 percent, down by 0.03 percentage points from the previous month; however, it was up by 0.10 percentage points from that of the previous year.
