Total employment in April 2015 was 11,170,000, which increased by 8,000(+0.07%) and 130,000(+1.18%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
The unemployment rate decreased by 0.09 percentage points to 3.63 percent in April 2015; however, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained the same at 3.75 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 421,000 in April 2015, which decreased by 10,000(-2.30%) and 28,000(-6.23%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate was 58.51 percent in April 2015, which decreased by 0.04 percentage points from the previous month; in contrast, it rose by 0.12 percentage points from that of the previous year.
