Manpower Survey Results in September 2014

    Total employment in September 2014 was 11,099,000, which decreased by 11,000(-0.10%) from the previous month but increased by 119,000(+1.08%) from that of the previous year.

     The unemployment rate declined by 0.12 percentage points to 3.96 percent in September 2014, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also fell by 0.04 percentage points to 3.90 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 458,000 in September 2014, which decreased by 15,000(-3.15%) and 28,000(-5.75%) from the previous month and that of the previous year.

      Labor force participation rate was 58.57 percent in September 2014, which fell by 0.16 percentage points from the previous month but rose by 0.10 percentage points from that of the previous year.
