Total employment in December 2019 was 11,531,000, which increased by 5,000(+0.05%) and 50,000(+0.44%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
The unemployment rate decreased by 0.06 percentage points to 3.67 percent in December 2019, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined by 0.01 percentage points to 3.72 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 439,000 in December 2019, which decreased by 8,000(-1.78%) but increased by 3,000(+0.69%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate was 59.22 percent in December 2019, which declined by 0.03 percentage points from the previous month; however, it rose by 0.13 percentage points from that of the previous year.
