Manpower Survey Results in July 2020

      Total employment in July 2020 was 11,498,000, which increased by 21,000(+0.18%) from the previous month; however, it decreased by 13,000(-0.11%) from that of the previous year.

      The unemployment rate rose by 0.04 percentage points to 4.00 percent in July 2020; however, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined by 0.07 percentage points to 3.90 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 479,000 in July 2020, which increased by 6,000(+1.30%) and 22,000(+4.85%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

      Labor force participation rate was 59.20 percent in July 2020, which rose by 0.13 percentage points but declined by 0.08 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
