Manpower Survey Results in May 2015

    Total employment in May 2015 was 11,179,000, which increased by 9,000(+0.08%) and 127,000(+1.15%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

     The unemployment rate decreased by 0.01 percentage points to 3.62 percent in May 2015; however, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained the same at 3.75 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 420,000 in May 2015, which decreased by 1,000(-0.16%) and 23,000(-5.18%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

      Labor force participation rate was 58.52 percent in May, which rose by 0.01 and 0.13 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
