Total employment in August 2020 was 11,507,000, which increased by 9,000(+0.08%) from the previous month; however, it decreased by 19,000(-0.16%) from that of the previous year.
The unemployment rate declined by 0.01 percentage points to 3.99 percent in August 2020; moreover, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also declined by 0.07 percentage points to 3.83 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 478,000 in August 2020, which decreased by 1,000(-0.20%) but increased by 12,000(+2.61%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate was 59.23 percent in August 2020, which rose by 0.03 percentage points but declined by 0.15 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
