Total employment in August 2019 was 11,526,000, which increased by 15,000(+0.13%) and 67,000(+0.58%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
The unemployment rate increased by 0.07 percentage points to 3.89 percent in August 2019, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also increased by 0.01 percentage points to 3.73 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 466,000 in August 2019, which increased by 9,000(+1.98%) and 5,000(+1.05%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate was 59.38 percent in August 2019, which increased by 0.10 percentage points and 0.19 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
