Total employment in August 2015 was 11,230,000, which increased by 19,000(+0.17%) and 120,000(+1.08%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
The unemployment rate in August 2015 was 3.90 percent, an increase of 0.08 percentage points from the previous month, however, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained the same at 3.74 percent in August 2015. The number of unemployed persons was 456,000 in August 2015, which increased by 11,000(+2.41%) from the previous month, in contrast, it decreased by 17,000(-3.60%) from that of the previous year.
Labor force participation rate was 58.85 percent in August 2015, which rose by 0.11 and 0.12 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
