Total employment in March 2020 was 11,513,000, which decreased by 10,000(-0.09%) from the previous month; however, it increased by 35,000(+0.30%) from that of the previous year.
The unemployment rate rose by 0.02 percentage points to 3.72 percent in March 2020; the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also increased by 0.06 percentage points to 3.76 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 445,000 in March 2020, which increased by 2,000(+0.45%) and 7,000(+1.56%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate was 59.11 percent in March 2020, which declined by 0.05 percentage points from the previous month; however, it rose by 0.05 percentage points from that of the previous year.
