Manpower Survey Results in December 2018

      Total employment in December 2018 was 11,481,000, which increased by 6,000(+0.05%) from the previous month; moreover, it increased by 76,000 (+0.66%) from that of the previous year.

      The unemployment rate fell by 0.04 percentage points to 3.66 percent in December 2018; however, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose by 0.01 percentage points to 3.70 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 436,000 in December 2018, which decreased by 5,000(-1.09%) from the previous month; however, it increased by 3,000(+0.62%) from that of the previous year.

      Labor force participation rate was 59.09 percent in December, which fell by 0.02 percentage points from the previous month; however, it rose by 0.17 percentage points from that of the previous year.
