Total employment in September 2019 was 11,507,000, which decreased by 19,000(-0.16%) but increased by 58,000(+0.51%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
The unemployment rate decreased by 0.09 percentage points to 3.80 percent in September 2019, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also increased by 0.01 percentage points to 3.74 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 455,000 in September 2019, which decreased by 11,000(-2.40%) but increased by 8,000(+1.72%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate was 59.22 percent in September 2019, which declined by 0.16 percentage points from the previous month; however, it rose by 0.17 percentage points from that of the previous year.
