Total employment in September 2022 was 11,397,000, which decreased by 5,000(-0.04%) form the previous month’s level; moreover, it also decreased by 20,000(-0.18%) from that of the previous year.
The unemployment rate declined by 0.13 percentage points to 3.66 percent in September 2022; the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined by 0.03 percentage points to 3.64 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 433,000 in September 2022, a decrease of 16,000(-3.50%) and 38,000(-8.01%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate declined by 0.12 percentage points to 59.17 percent in September 2022; however, it rose by 0.24 percentage points from that of the previous year.
