Total employment in January 2022 was 11,474,000, which decreased by 6,000(-0.05%) form the previous month’s level; moreover, it also decreased by 53,000(-0.45%) from that of the previous year.
The unemployment rate declined by 0.03 percentage points to 3.61 percent in January 2022; the seasonally adjusted unemployment remained the same to 3.70 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 430,000 in January 2022, a decrease of 3,000(-0.72%) and 8,000(-1.83%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate rose by 0.01 percentage to 59.17 percent in January 2022; moreover, it also rose by 0.03 percentage points from that of the previous year.
