Industry and Service Sector Earnings Statistics in May 2021

i.At the end of May, the total payroll employees were 8,119 thousand, mainly affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, decreased by 52 thousand (or 0.64%) than the previous month.
ii.In May, the average regular earnings of full-time employees with Taiwan nationality (excluding the foreigners and part-time employees) was NT$45,091, decreased by 0.74% than the previous month and increased by 1.93% than the same month last year. After adding the irregular earnings such as bonuses and overtime pays, the average total earnings was NT$54,864, increased by 5.62% than the same month last year.
iii.The average regular earnings of all employees (including full-time and part-time employees with Taiwan nationality and foreigners) was NT$42,863, decreased by 0.75% than the previous month and increased by 1.83% than the same month last year. The average total earnings was NT$51,957, increased by 5.27% than the same month last year. Among it, the average regular earnings of part-time employees was NT$18,657, decreased by 7.92% than the previous month and decreased by 1.23% than the same month last year.
