Manpower Survey Results in March 2024

Total employment increased by 9,000(+0.08%) in March to 11,581,000; moreover, it also increased by 87,000(+0.75%) when compared with that of the previous year.

The unemployment rate declined by 0.01 percentage points to 3.38 percent in March; however, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.40 percent; the 4 weeks unemployment rate rose by 0.07 percentage points to 3.49 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 405,000 in March, a decrease of 1,000(-0.25%) and 19,000(-4.57%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

Labor force participation rate rose by 0.03 percentage points to 59.24 percent in March; furthermore, it also rose by 0.04 percentage points from that of the previous year.

NOTE: 4 weeks unemployment rate was compiled by the ILO definition of looking for a job in the past 4 weeks including the reference week.
